#18 Willie Edwards


Willie joined the Studs in 1992, after playing two seasons for N.Y. Seltzer. One of the top players in the league, Edwards is a package of power and speed, an offensive catalyst. Possessing perhaps the best arm in the league, he also uses his cannon on the mound, where he is a fierce closer. After a stellar prep career at Service High, Edwards played two seasons in the Atlanta Braves farm system.

#19 Jasen Riggs

Jasen was an original member of the Studs, going back to the Crown Royals. A pure power hitter, he attended Bartlett High in Anchorage, and later attended the University of Nebraska. Some of his tape measured shots are still talked about today.

#21 Chris Williams

 

Chris played high school baseball for Bartlett. He has played on Hewitts and the Colt 45's in the league, before joining the Studs in 1999. A first basemen with power, Williams also throws hard from the left side, on the mound.

#22 Chris Pobieglo

High School: East Anchorage 1984-1988

College: Eastfield College, Dallas, Texas 1988-1991

Chris joined the Studs in 1993, after playing four years for the Anchorage Pirates. After winning a State Championship at East High School, he played three years at Eastfield College in Dallas, Texas, and was named to the Junior College All-star team his freshman season

#24 Keith Boice

Keith played High School at East Anchorage, where he won a State Championship in 1992. After a couple seasons with the Anchorage Wolverines, he joined the Studs in 1995. Combined good speed, with power to the gaps, Boice has been productive hitting second or fifth.

#27 Trent Taylor

Trent is the founder of the Studs, and the head coach from 1992-1998. He played High School baseball for East Anchorage, where he won a State Championship in 1988. He went on to attend Santa Barbara College and Grossmont College in California. One of the top clutch hitters in the league, Taylor has great bat control, and the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the field. His knowledge and the mechanics make him a good defensive catcher.

#33 Jason Hargrave

Jason pitched for Service High School, and joined the Studs in 1998. At 6'7", he brings a presence to the mound with him, and has shown improvement over the last year.

#34 Paul Van Landingham

Paul pitched for Service High School, then for the Anchorage Pirates for several years. After a few year layoff, he returned to the Studs in 1997. He changes speeds well, and does a good job of keeping the ball down, in a league with right handed hitters. He became the head coach of the Studs in 1999.

#4 Curt Cullen


Curt joined the Studs in 1998, after playing a few seasons for Sprite. He is very versatile, playing any position on the field, and batting anywhere in the line-up. Perhaps the fastest player on the team, he has developed into a solid backstop.

#5 Pat Dolan


Pat joined the Studs in 1992, after playing three seasons with the Anchorage Pirates. A 1988 graduate from Chugiak High, Dolan went on to play at Tacoma Community College, in Washington. The top hitter in the league, Dolan's power is unmatched.

#6 Rich Knowles 


Rich played high school baseball for Kodiak, and went on to play college at Western Oregon State, before joining the Studs in 1993. Blending speed and instincts, Knowles has been a proto type lead-off man for the Studs, and the offensive spark plug.

#11 Josh Ellis

Josh played High School baseball for Dimond High School in Anchorage. He has played the last two seasons at a junior college in Washington, and hit over .400 there last season. His versatility allows him to catch, play first base, or the outfield. Hitting from the left side, he has the power to go opposite field to the right-center gap. He shows good skills and judgment when catching as well. In addition he pitches, having a sub 2.00 ERA in college.

#12 Les Henrickson

Les is one of the best defensive first basemen in the league, always saving other infielders from throwing errors. He played high school for Dimond, in South Anchorage. A slow starter, Henrickson is usually cooking by the end of the season.

#17 Isaac Maceo

Isaac is one of the top power hitters in the clutch, having hit numerous homeruns in the State Tournaments. He has a wicked glove at third, snagging anything near him. He played high school baseball at East Anchorage, where he won a State Championship in 1988.
